Philosophothought. That's a fabricated word. This typecasting blog features me and my typewriter collection. Opinions on controversial topics, witty and confusing humour, and randomness that can leave you wondering if you really wanted to read what you just read. But I talk about my typewriters way too much!
Wow!! A lucky, lucky find. I agree with you, these nearly never turn up in the US. But it has a $ sign, indicating that it was made for export -- either to the US or (I think this is more likely) Canada.
Click here for my own impressions of the Good Companion 5 (same model, different name) which I imported from the UK. I agree that it's an excellent typewriter. I wish I had the lovely streamlined case for it.
There's a good reason it feels like a Torpedo: I think it IS one, or at least a descendant of one. Read all the comments on my post for further info.
That is a nice looking machine. I like the basic math keyboard. I'm a sucker for special type!
